The role of the mTORC1 pathway in the pathogenesis of sarcoidosis was first described by Linke et al. [6], who showed that activation of the mTORC1 signaling pathway in macrophages resulted in granuloma formation similar to sarcoidosis in mice by staining it with the downstream target phosphor-S6 ribosomal protein (p-S6). The gene discussed is TAS2R63P; the disease is sarcoidosis.
