Regarding ceramides, in our study, Cer(d18:1/16:0) levels were significantly increased in NASH patients compared to NAFL patients and healthy controls, and Cer(d18:1/18:0) levels and the Cer(d18:1/18:0)/Cer(d18:1/24:0) ratio were significantly higher in NASH patients compared to healthy controls. Here, CBLN1 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
