P2RX5 and Alzheimer disease: We found a profile similar to that of cannabinoid receptors, with an overall decrease in the main Ca2+ channels at both plasma level (P2rx5 purinergic receptor and NMDA receptor) and subcellular level (Mitochondrial Ca2+ uniporter, Mcu; and Inositol triphosphate receptor type 1 in the endoplasmic reticulum, Itpr1) in the hippocampal astrocytes of 3×Tg-AD female animals at PND 2-3.
