[79] showed that tau in the dorsolateral frontal cortex is differentially phosphorylated in CTE and AD; serine 202 residue (p-tau202) is significantly more phosphorylated in CTE, while serine 396 (p-tau396) residue occurs in AD, with the ratio of p-tau202 to p-tau396 being significantly higher in CTE compared to AD.
