TNF and metastatic melanoma: The current standard of care for metastatic melanoma includes a range of immunotherapies, including immune checkpoint inhibitors (anti-CTLA-4 and anti-PD-1 antibodies), interleukin-2 (IL-2) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) infusions, chemotherapy and radiotherapy in some cases, targeted therapies such as BRAF (v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1) and MEK (mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase) inhibitors, angiogenesis inhibitors (anti-VEGF antibodies), and even oncolytic virotherapy from FDA-approved Talimogene Laherparepvec (Imlygic) [2].
