No significant associations were identified between sLOX-1 and body mass index, sex, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, significant family history of ischemic heart disease, previous TIA or stroke, inflammatory arthritis, atrial fibrillation, or in those taking anti-platelets, anti-coagulants, statins, beta blockers, ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers. This evidence concerns the gene OLR1 and hypertensive disorder.
