Chen et al. also showed that the overexpression of S100A14 in cancer cells could either induce or inhibit cell invasion, depending on the p53 status, as follows: increased cell invasion was observed in the p53 positive HT1080 fibrosarcoma and MCF7 breast cancer cell lines whereas a decrease in cell invasion was observed in the p53 negative non-small cell lung carcinoma cell line [39]. Here, TP53 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
