From the earliest studies that helped to understand the evolution from adenoma to adenocarcinoma, in which APC, TP53, and KRAS mutations were recognized as driving and clonal mutations, to the most modern single-cell sequencing studies, the importance of inter- and intratumoral heterogeneity has been highlighted as a key factor in the natural history of CRC [2,3]. Here, KRAS is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
