Inhibition of PFKFB3 in vitro resulted in the suppression of fibroblast activation and proliferation (Figure 8 to Figure 9), while myofibroblast-specific knockout of Pfkfb3 significantly inhibited renal fibrosis induced by UUO and kidney ischemia/reperfusion in vivo (Figure 3, Figure 4, Figure 5 and Figure 6). This evidence concerns the gene PFKFB3 and renal fibrosis.
