When adjusted for the given confounding factors, the association between the CYP2C9*2 allele and its corresponding genotype with sulphonylurea-induced hypoglycaemia remained consistent, suggesting that the genetic variant may independently contribute to an increased risk of hypoglycaemia in individuals using sulphonylurea medications (for details, consult Table 5).
