The role of LHPP and/or histidine phosphorylation in IBD has not yet been investigated; however, IBD patients have a significantly elevated risk of developing colorectal cancer (CRC) [20,21], and several studies have provided evidence that LHPP is lost in CRCs and that the overexpression of LHPP can suppress the development of CRC in vivo [7,22,23]. Here, LHPP is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
