Of 353 individuals tested for malaria parasites by multiplex nested PCR, 316 (89.5%) were positive for P. falciparum infection, of which 88.6% were Pf mono-infections, 8.9% were Pf + Pm, 1.9% were Pf + Po, and 0.6% were Pf + Pm + Po. This evidence concerns the gene PRB1 and infection.
