The reported studies showed that those marine natural products have the potential to act on different PD targets, suggesting they can act in several PD hallmarks (reducing oxidative stress, preventing mitochondrial dysfunction, α-synuclein aggregation, and blocking inflammatory pathways through the inhibition of Caspase cascade, DNA fragmentation, the translocation of NF-kB factor, the reduction of TNF-α and IL-6, and the retardation of α-synuclein aggregation). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and Parkinson disease.
