CRP and COVID-19: Similar results were highlighted by a study conducted on a group of 283 patients with RT-PCR testing that confirmed COVID-19, in which three inflammatory markers—serum CRP (86.36% sensitivity; 88.89% specificity), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) (90.91% sensitivity; 80.56% specificity), and ferritin (95.45% sensitivity; 86.57% specificity)—were shown to be useful in predicting mortality [28].
