CD8A and systemic lupus erythematosus: Regarding CD8 lymphocytes, CD8EMRA (CD8CD45RA+CCR7-) and CD8EMRACD28- (CD8CD45RA+CCR7-CD28-) cells showed a statistically significant reduction in SLE patients compared to controls, which proved a decrease in the senescent phenotype, together with a shift to CM and early differentiated CD8 subtypes (Table 4).
