Advancements in PET scanning using novel radiotracers targeting PSMA, such as Ga-68 PSMA-11 (gozetotide) and F-18 DCFPyL (piflufolastat F-18), have shown potential in detecting both locoregional and distant metastatic sites, even in prostate cancer patients with very low levels of PSA (<2 ng/mL). This evidence concerns the gene FOLH1 and prostate carcinoma.
