Most of the colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with V-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (BRAF) V600E mutations are derived from sessile serrated adenoma (SSAD) of the proximal colon, while a fraction of them is derived from traditional serrated adenoma (TSA) of distal colon with special molecular and clinicopathological features. This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and colorectal carcinoma.
