The analgesic effect of 5% dextrose in water in the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain has been reported21,25, and related mechanisms might be able to reduce the activation of transient receptor potential vanilloid receptor-1 (TRPV1), which is associated with chronic neuropathic pain, and to decrease the discharge rate to reduce pain sensitivity and reverse energy-deficient states associated with neuropathy25. Here, TRPV1 is linked to Pain.
