Although, the study did not follow the recommended master protocol developed by WHO to guide surveillance and biobanking of pfhrp2/3 gene deletions in malaria endemic countries, this study provides, for the first time, the overall prevalence of hrp2, hrp3 and dual hrp2/3 gene deletions estimated in some sites in Chad and baseline data for future surveys aimed at determining the trend in the frequency of hrp2/3 gene deletions. Here, HDGFL2 is linked to malaria.
