Zinc finger protein 64 (ZFP64), a gene upregulated in HCC patients with unfavorable prognosis in anti-PD1 treatment, undergoes direct phosphorylation at S226 by protein kinase Cα (PKCα), leading to its nuclear translocation and the transcriptional activation of macrophage colony-stimulating factor (CSF1). This evidence concerns the gene CSF1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
