The purpose of the current study was to determine the possible protective effects of sesamin on the severity of attacks (latency, duration, and frequency of seizures), neurobehavioral assessments (passive avoidance memory, anxiety, and locomotion), oxidative stress (SOD, GPx, and MDA), hippocampus local EEG (gamma, beta, alpha, theta, and delta waves) and mRNA expression of the PI3K/Akt pathway from the hippocampus in male Wistar rats.
