In a model of achromatopsia caused by a mutation in the ATF6 gene, which is best known for its role in transducing signals related to ER stress, patient fibroblasts harbouring the ATF6Y567N/Y567N mutation were more sensitive to ER stress and PARP overexpression (Chiang et al., 2017; Hillary and FitzGerald, 2018). Here, PARP1 is linked to achromatopsia.
