CD4 and colonic neoplasm: Study demonstrated that TME undergoing necroptosis with the release of DAMPs (Krysko et al., 2012) and activation of NF-κB signaling (Snyder et al., 2019) can recruit and activate DCs, which are essential for cross-initiation and infiltration of CD8+ effector T cells into the TME (Spranger et al., 2017), through the assistance of CD4+ helper T cells, thus triggering a sustained cytotoxic antitumor immune response leading to colon cancer cell death (Minute et al., 2020).
