VEGFA and wet macular degeneration: Kim and colleagues used the smaller Cas9 protein derived from Campylobacter jejuni (CjCas9) and the RNA‐guide nuclease, CRISPR from Prevoltella and Francisella (Cpf1) to disrupt Vegfa and Hif1α gene before laser‐induced CNV and found that it significantly mitigated mouse CNV progress, demonstrating that suppressing the angiogenesis pathway is effective for the treatment of wet AMD.15, 16
