Results showed that there was no significant difference among the three groups in terms of the percentage of TUNEL staining‐positive apoptotic cells (Figure S2E,F) and intercellular adhesion molecule 1 or vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 ‐positive cells (Figure S3), further supporting the concept that no significant cardiac structural abnormalities can be found in the early stage of diabetic cardiomyopathy. This evidence concerns the gene ICAM1 and diabetic cardiomyopathy.
