Consistent with previous findings that DSS‐induced colitis increased thrombus formation in mouse arterioles in response to photochemical injury, which was significantly blunted in mice treated with the IL‐1β antibody as well as IL‐1r (‐/‐) mice,[36] our data reproduced the clinical manifestation of IBD‐induced thrombosis in superior mesenteric artery and inferior vena cava, which was accompanied by severe inflammation.
