Gut microbiota regulates the transformation of naïve T cells into different types of Th cells such as Th1, Th2, and Th17 or Forkhead box P3 (Foxp3)+ Treg cells (6), suggesting that a dysbiosis could lead to the imbalance of these cell and related cytokines found in AD and ASD (7), as confirmed by the fact that intestinal dysbiosis precedes the onset of AD. Here, FOXP3 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
