The Wnt pathway is known to induce the EMT transcription factor, Snai2 (Saegusa et al, 2009; Kobayashi & Ozawa, 2013), and it would thus be expected that mutations in FBXW7 alone would be sufficient to drive tumor formation; however, this study revealed that endometrial cancers were highly penetrant only when PTEN was deleted (Daikoku et al, 2008). This evidence concerns the gene PTEN and endometrial cancer.
