Within both CPTAC (Figure S5A) and TCGA (Figure S5B) cases, we observed that, regardless of tissue-of-origin, TP53 mutated samples were densely cellular, and frequently showed dense lymphocytic infiltrates within tumor stroma, as well as high mitotic rate, increased nuclear/cytoplasmic (N/C) ratio and, in many cases, scattered “monster cells” with enlarged, hyperchromatic, multilobulated nuclei that were much larger than the majority of malignant cells. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is neoplasm.
