It has been found that low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) [175,176], asialoglycoprotein receptor 1 (ASGR1) [177,178], proprotein convertase subtilisin kexin 9 (PCSK9) [179,180], LIM domain and actin binding 1 (LIMA1) [181], the cholesterol transporter Niemann-Pick C1-like protein 1 (NPC1L1) [182,183] and other key genes are involved in the occurrence of atherosclerosis. Here, LDLR is linked to atherosclerosis.
