GPX4 and neoplasm: In addition to changes in a cell type with tumor progression, at the transcriptomic level, some genes, such as the ferroptosis gene ACSL4/GPX4 (Sha et al., 2021); the pyroptosis genes GZMB, IL18, IRF1, and GZMA (Wang et al., 2022); and the glycolysis-related genes PGK1, SDHC, PFKL, and NUP43, play a role in TME inhibition or promotion of tumor evolution and serve as prognostic markers (Zhang et al., 2021).
