INS and polycystic ovary syndrome: MI is comparable to MET in improving insulin sensitivity and is equally effective in treating PCOS. It regulates menstrual cyclicity, testosterone, and ovarian morphology better than MET, whereas MET corrects lipids and blood sugar better than MI. Using either of them or both together can be made based on the patient profile. MI is a nutraceutical with lesser AEs and hence better patient compliance. The results demonstrate that it can be a reliable therapeutic in the treatment of PCOS.
