SLC26A3, a gene that encodes a protein known to be predominantly expressed in the colorectum and specifically located in the lumen brush border membrane of colorectal epithelial tissue [26] Previous studies have indicated that SLC26A3 is downregulated in CRC tissues, and the expression level of SLC26A3 is inversely correlated with the progression of colorectal cancer according to clinicopathological stage [27]. The gene discussed is SLC26A3; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
