ALB and nutritional deficiency disease: A meta-analysis of 111 studies conducted in 2017 on a group of nearly 53,000 patients evaluating 43 blood markers of malnutrition identified albumin as a reliable marker of the nutritional status, with the strongest correlation with the results of questionnaires, such as the Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS-2002), Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA), Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST) and Subjective Global Assessment (SGA).
