IGHE and atopic eczema: Various studies, including cell studies, have shown that DGLA-mediated inhibition of the development of atopic dermatitis is mediated by reduced degranulation via prostaglandin D1 (PGD1) produced by DGLA [14,26,27,28], reduced immunoglobulin E (IgE) concentration [25], a decrease in leukotriene [29,30], and an inhibitory effect on T-cell proliferation [31].
