To date, the development of the CRC assay has been reported as associated with the hypermethylation status of a number of single-copy genes, such as RARB, RASSF1A, APC, MGMT, ITGA4, MAP3K14-AS1, IKZF1, CLDN1, MSC, INHBA, SLC30A10, BCAT1, SEPT9, GRIA4, SLC8A1, SYN3, T-UCRs, TMEM240, EYA4, GRIA4, and EHD3 detected in the cfDNA from the blood plasma (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene TMEM240 and colorectal carcinoma.
