The expression levels of lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) and pyruvate dehydrogenase, which control the pyruvate to lactate conversion and play a key role in glycolysis, cell growth, and tumor maintenance, proved to be significantly suppressed by combined treatment with 2-DG and ScF or ScFCM (Figure 7a,b), which led to the disruption of the metabolic pathway of SK-MEL-28 melanoma cells and the suppression of cell proliferation. The gene discussed is LDHA; the disease is neoplasm.
