Following the MEK inhibitor rationale for KRAS-driven tumors, a more recent study demonstrated that the treatment of HCT116 and SW480 CRC cell lines, both of which are KRAS-mutated, with the MEK inhibitor AZD6244 caused the upregulation of multiple oncogenes including EGFR, MET, FAK, STAT3, and AKT. Here, MAP2K7 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
