On the molecular level, three types of gene fusions were found for the MAST1 gene (with ZNF700, with taDA2A, and with NFIX) and two types were discovered in the case of the MAST2 gene (with ARIDA1a and GPBP1L1) in different transcriptomes from breast cancer samples and breast cancer-derived cell lines [60]. Here, NFIX is linked to breast carcinoma.
