APC and colorectal adenoma: The role of β-catenin in colon carcinogenesis is well established, as hyperactivation of β-catenin signaling by mutations in either APC or β-catenin, leads to excessive colonocyte proliferation that leads to colon cancer development [45,46,47] and sporadic colorectal adenomas and carcinomas, which showed translocation of β-catenin from the cell membrane to the cytoplasm/nucleus [47].
