miR-379 has been suggested to act as a tumour suppressor in other cancer types; e.g., it has been reported that miR-379 inhibits migration and invasion in osteosarcoma and NSCLC targeting EIF4G2 [33,34], and inhibits tumour invasion and metastasis by targeting FAK/AKT signalling in hepatocellular carcinoma and gastric cancer [35,36]. This evidence concerns the gene EIF4G2 and neoplasm.
