Cirrhotic patients with HRS–AKI had higher levels of total bilirubin (3.3 ± 2.1 vs. 3.1 ± 6.4 mg/dL), zonulin (7.9 ± 0.4 vs. 4.8 ± 1.6 ng/mL), LPS (3.7 ± 0.9 vs. 2.3 ± 1.0 ng/mL), and LBP (94.6 ± 14.7 vs. 74.0 ± 22.0 ng/mL) as well as a higher mean Child–Pugh score (8.4 ± 1.4 vs. 7.2 ± 1.9) than those without HRS–AKI. Here, HP is linked to acute kidney injury.
