In keeping with the nature of the cohort studied, circulating levels of GDF-15 in the current study (1099.5 pg/mL (717.2–1755.0)) were higher than that reported in healthy populations (762 ng/L (600–959)),30 but lower than that in more established HF (eg, 1626 ng/L (1159–2398) at baseline in the sacubitril/valsartan group in the PARADIGM‐HF trial12). The gene discussed is GDF15; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
