Similarly to the other types of neoplastic cells, GBM cells undergo the upregulation of antioxidant enzymes, such as manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD), thioredoxin (TRX), thioredoxin reductase (TrxR), catalase (CAT), and superoxide dismutase (SOD), which helps them to escape cell death under conditions of oxidative stress [5,6,7]. This evidence concerns the gene PRDX5 and glioblastoma.
