In the univariate model, diabetes mellitus (odds ratio [OR] 0.311, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.104–0.934, P = .037), CTP score (OR 2.841, 95% CI 1.504–5.368, P = .001), hemoglobin (OR 0.816, 95% CI 0.679–0.980, P = .030), total bilirubin (OR 1.699, 95% CI 1.114–2.591, P = .014), albumin (OR 0.406, 95% CI 0.225–0.733, P = .003), and PT INR (OR 9.448, 95% CI 1.724–1.778, P = .010) were significantly associated with a late-stage HCC at the initial diagnosis. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and hepatocellular carcinoma.
