Such is the case of the recent discovery that overexpression of MAGI2-AS3 diminishes DNA methylation of MAGI2 in breast cancer cells (MCF-7) and thus would inhibit the Wnt/β-catenin pathway also diminishing cell proliferation and migration (53); the authors reported that MAGI2-AS3 may act as a cis-acting regulatory element down regulating the DNA methylation level of the MAGI2 promoter region. Here, MAGI2 is linked to breast cancer.
