CD36 and neoplasm: We found that a number of genes associated with tumor-promoting processes were highly expressed in MHCIIhi neutrophils (Fig. 4d), including extracellular matrix remodeling (Lox, Mmp14, and collagens), reactive oxygen species (Acer2, Cyp1a1, and Steap3), suppression of T-cell responses (Ctla4, Btla, Havcr2 and Lag3), anti-inflammatory genes (CD36, Tgfb1i1, Ccl22, and Arg1), angiogenesis (Il-6, Flt1, and Vegfc), and tumor cell proliferation/growth (Pdgfa, Tnfsf9, and Tnfsf10).
