In a rat model of spinal cord injury-induced ALI with NLRP3 inflammasome activation, administration of the dopamine D1 receptor agonist A-68930 significantly decreased NLRP3 inflammasome activation and reduced inflammatory cytokine levels and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, attenuating pulmonary edema and histopathology [41]. This evidence concerns the gene MPO and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
