We showed that SAT gene expression of CABLES1 is downregulated with obesity and T2D, and is negatively associated with markers of hyperglycaemia and obesity, while positively associated with markers of insulin sensitivity, HDL, and adipocyte ex vivo lipolysis and glucose uptake, suggesting that higher levels of CABLES1 in SAT are reflecting a metabolically beneficial phenotype. This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
