While AD, primary age-related tauopathy, and the rare autosomal dominant Familial Danish or British dementia share the same core structure of tau fibrils, other tauopathies including progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), cortico basal degeneration (CBD), Pick’s disease (PiD) or chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) have specific structural signatures of tau core aggregates [27].
